We hold the Leapfrog Hospital Survey & Leapfrog ASC Survey to the highest standards of validity and reliability. Every measure is continually reviewed by volunteer expert panels, and we employ an intensive desk review and data verification process to ensure the integrity of our data.
Empowering patients and purchasers to act on quality.
National and regional health plans use Leapfrog Hospital Survey results to power decision-support tools for their members, and regional coalitions use the data to activate their communities around safety and quality. Hospital Survey results are also used in the calculation of Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grades, and as the basis for value-based purchasing strategies.

Making the choice on safety.
We created the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade so you can see how well your hospital protects its patients from errors, accidents, injuries and infections. Using the simple letter grade system, you can find out:
- How well does my hospital prevent infections and encourage handwashing?
- Does my hospital value patient safety by supporting strong health care teams?
- Are there policies in place for preventing errors?
Nearly 3,000 hospitals are issued a Safety Grade twice per year.
